Join us and your fellow members down a path first trodden by a Buddhist monk returning to Japan from his studies in China over 1000 years ago. We wonder if he was aware of the impact his bounty of a few green tea trees would have on the culture and tradition of Japan over the ensuing millennium. When our products arrive on your doorstep it will be less than 24 hours that you open them since they were packaged and air couriered directly to you from Japan.
Freshness is essential for your perfect enjoyment of Japanese green tea. Local importers seldom understand the ideal storage requirements of Japanese green tea.
The tea should be stored compactly, in an airtight container and enjoyed as quickly as possible after opening. We suggest you store your tea in an airtight steel canister known as a Chazutsu, available from the Tea Canister section of our shop. Kept in at a cool temperature, under 20C and in a dark place the tea will keep fresh for up to 6 months, one year if stored in your refrigerator (away from anything strong smelling). We recommend that for the best results you purchase in small quantities and enjoy immediately. Please refer to the ‘How to Enjoy Green Tea’.
